- In your stand mixer bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for five minutes until it becomes bubbly.
- Attach the dough hook. Add the oil, salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix, gradually adding more flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for 4-5 minutes until the dough is soft, smooth, and slightly tacky. If it's too sticky, add 1/4 cup more flour and mix again.
- Turn the dough out onto a clean surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball by cupping your hand over it and moving it in a circular motion with slight pressure.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Place the dough balls in rows of 3 across and 4 down. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes, or until puffy and doubled in size.
- Bake for 14-17 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and brush with butter using a pastry brush. Serve warm.
