- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, kosher salt, sweet paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Place the salmon, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the salmon evenly with olive oil.
- Generously sprinkle the spice mixture over the top of the salmon fillet, pressing gently to adhere.
- Roast the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the fillet.
- Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and moist fish.
