Korean Beef Rice Bowls

Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
For Serving
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the Korean beef mixture.
  4. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

This recipe is easily customizable. You can add vegetables like broccoli or carrots to the beef mixture during the last few minutes of cooking.
