Seven Layer Taco Dip

This seven-layer taco dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for any gathering. It features layers of seasoned refried beans, a creamy sour cream and cream cheese mixture, zesty salsa, fresh vegetables, cheese, and black olives.

Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese softened
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives drained

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, blend the refried beans and taco seasoning. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter to form the base layer.
  2. In another medium bowl, mix the sour cream and softened cream cheese until well combined. Spread this creamy mixture evenly over the refried beans.
  3. Pour the salsa over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Layer the chopped tomato, chopped green bell pepper, chopped green onions, and shredded lettuce over the salsa.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the vegetable layer. Garnish the top with the drained sliced black olives.
  6. Chill the dip for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This dip is best served chilled. You can prepare the layers ahead of time and assemble just before serving, or assemble completely and chill.
