Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed (or a 12-ounce bag of pre-trimmed green beans)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
Optional toppings
  • 1 chopped bacon optional
  • 1 toasted almonds optional
  • 1 Parmesan cheese optional
  • 1 lemon juice squeeze of, optional

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Sheet pan
  • Serving bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Place the green beans on a large rimmed sheet pan. Drizzle with oil and add the salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Spread the green beans out in a single layer on the pan. For easier cleanup, you can use parchment paper, but it's not necessary. The green beans will caramelize more without it.
  3. Roast the green beans until they are tender, about 10-12 minutes. If you prefer them a little crispy and browned, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Transfer the roasted green beans to a serving bowl. If you are using any optional toppings, add them now.
